Awards
Grace & Hugo will be awarding Baltimore's & Gardels' own Cha-Cha George "The Salsa In the Community Man of the Year Award". For
those of you who haven't had the privilege of knowing him,
Cha-Cha George is the a lover of dance and people. You
might have heard about his wonderful salsa parties and
gatherings on any given Thursday Night or Sunday afternoon
at his place. He tirelessly attracts new salsa junkies
to our dance community and employs instructors in his home
to teach salsa to his guests. Besides being a
spectacular host and frequently being asked by women to
dance, he is a dedicated friend and we all appreciate Cha-Cha
George's efforts in our Salsa Community. Thanks from
all of us! Come see him receive his award!
Other awards given will be 2005 STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD
AND the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards
for the new DWG logo. To see the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners
click here. DWG will be created the DWG logo by combining two of the top three logos. Come and see what it looks like!
Dancing With Grace Productions is not making any money
off the door/ticket fee, the food, or alcohol.
After paying the host location, all proceeds from the ticket
sales and food will be going to the Hospital Infantil De
Mexico City to support the orphans who have aids there.
There will be a live orchestra!
There will only be 130 seats available for the three course dinner seating. Remember, this is for charity and you will be making a difference dancing salsa!

We will be offering two Instructional Salsa Videos (i.e., Beginner Level I-III and Intermediate Levels I-II). Only the English version will be availabe. You can pay for the salsa videos with your ticket order and pick them up at this event.

2. Tuesday Nights at the
Promenade: Cross Body Lead Workshop
- Beginner Salsa 7-8 p.m.: Learn the basics!
- Intermediate Cross Body
Lead Technique Workshop 7-8 p.m: Ladies really need
to work on their cross body lead with turns so Sheena
and/or Grace will be working on teaching you what to do
with your arms and different techniques each week.
$12 If gentleman choose to take this class please
understand this class is for ladies to get more practice
on their footwork during a cross body lead along with arm
styling. You would only be leading the ladies basic
cross body leads.

Beginner Intermediate 8-9 p.m.: Learn more difficult
beginner intermediate combinations.

Intermediate/Advanced Combinations: Each week we
will work on a new combination and make certain we dance
to fast music.
Dress Code:
Casual, comfortable sweats or yoga pants, (preferably) salsa practice shoes (for turns and spins on a wooden dance floor). If you don't have salsa shoes, you can wear your evening dance. Tennis shoes will inhibit your spins and may ruin your knees over time. You can go to the DWG Store to see if you find something you like. Or go on line and check out shoes like Supadance or International. They can get
pricy but make a world of difference when you dance.

Beginners Workshop
Learn Salsa with the only Certified Salsa Instructors in the
State of Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Pennsylvania!
CLASSES ARE HELD ON THE SECOND FLOOR! $10.00 Each
If you come at 9
and pay downstairs, you should receive a ticket and hand it
to our sign in person. You should not have to pay
twice (to get in and for the class).

American Dance Festival (summer, Duke Univ) tuition
scholarship audition to be held in Washington, D.C. on
April 2nd, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Dance Place, 3225 8th
Street NE. Young Artist Tuition Scholarships are offered
to promising students who have a high level of technical
ability and creative potential and who have experience in
either performing and/or choreography. The awards are
based on ability, talent, potential, desire & financial
need.Scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $200 to
full tuition. These awards are for tuition only and do not
cover room and board costs. Students are encouraged to
arrive early to warm up. The audition begins with a
technique class which will involve some improvisation.
Also, each dancer must present a 1 & 1/2 minute solo. A
cassette/CD player will be available at each site.

Wednesdays at Zanzibar
Eileen Torres has hosted Salsa
Wednesdays at Zanzibar for nearly 7 years. Doors open at
5 pm for Happy Hour with $2.00 Margaritas until 7 - Buffet
served at 6 and dance class by Eileen starts at 7 - The
class alternates from Cha Cha on-2 to Salsa on-2 ever
other week. There are two DJs per night, rotating 6 men
and 2 women each month. Special impromptu performances,
special celebrations and the ever popular Tributes
(Men, Women, Choreographers, Old School Mambo) are all
part of Wednesdays at Zanzibar. There is a no jeans dress
code. Those that chose to wear jeans are admitted for a
double cover charge - $10 before 10 pm and $20 thereafter
- Bags are inspected at the door for outside beverages.

Latin Hip Movement and Partnering Workshop:
The DWG Method
11:00-1:00 p.m. DWG Stretching Method
w/Russian Technique & Ballet Elements, by Grace Badillo & Ed
Borja: This class is designed for men and women.
For all dancers, shapes and sizes! Lear to
apply the DWG Stretching Method with Russian Techniques
developed by Pavel Tsatsouline, Master of Relax into
Stretch; this class will also include basic ballet stretches
that will elongate you muscles safely. We will then move on
to apply a Latin Hip Movement segment of class on bar slowly
so that each of you can understand where your knees, torso,
hips and feet are in dance.

2:30-3:30 p.m. DWG Latin Movement Method Class to Include
Footwork, by Grace Badillo & Ann Matz
Quick Review, The Domino Effect In Action,
Salsa With Grace DVD. Learn the four points of footwork and
how simple you can make your own shines!
3:30-5:00 p.m. Partnership Technique:
Review the Dancing With Grace Chapter on Reverse ½
Techniques with Grace & Ed Borja
After taking this class you will have learned
at least 6 new patterns and how to add them to your salsa or
mambo. These Reverse techniques are also great ways to lead
your partners into double turns.
Prices:
$12.00 Lunch, $30 each workshop
$100 pass for entire workshop with a free lunch.
Dress Code:
Casual, comfortable yoga wear or baggie sweats, pants, (preferably)
latin dance shoes (for turns and spins on a wooden dance floor). If you
don't have practice dance shoes, you can wear your evening dance shoes.
Sneakers and Tennis Shoes are not OK to wear. Please do not waste
$ on this workshop by taking it and not having the right shoes, as it
will inhibit you to turn and it may ruin your knees over time. We
care about your knees!
