6. December Cha-Cha-Cha Classes at Gardels!
Leslie & Dan Darlington are scheduled to come to
teach Cha-Cha-Cha classes in December 2005 so plan to get
your cha-cha groove on!
First Floor Demonstration: 7:30 p.m.
Beginners 8-9 p.m.
Intermediate 9-10 p.m.
Dan and Leslie
Darlington each studied ballroom and Latin dancing since the
early 1980's. Dan's training also includes swing dance;
Leslie's in classical dances (ballet, modern and jazz.)
When Dan moved to Baltimore from San Francisco in 1989, he
brought with him the freshness of West Coast Swing and his
peers were impressed with his dancing. He was encouraged to
teach these new moves and his lessons soon expanded to
include East Coast Swing and St. Louis Shag, then ballroom
dance. His teaching venues include: Swing on a Star
(Philadelphia Swing Dance Society) Glen Echo Spanish
Ballroom (Washington Swing Dance Council) Avalon Dance
Studio, the Potomac Swing Club, The Promenade Dance Sport,
and the Towson Dance Studio.
Leslie's dance and
performing experience started at age 6 and her classical
training extended into college, where she was a member of
the Towson University Dance Company. During a winter college
break, she auditioned for and was accepted as a dancer for a
one ring circus "Circus America"
that performed at the Nissan Center (former Capital Center).
After college, she performed with a modern dance troupe
called Movement Arts Parasol. During college, she
taught dance for Baltimore County Recreation and Parks,
Towson University Children's program and Lester Holmes
dance studio. Her students have ranged in age from 4 to 74.
Soon after learning ballroom dance she competed and taught.
Most recently, the
Darlingtons have taught at the Towson Dance Studio and the
Promenade Dance Sport in Baltimore. Collectively Dan and
Leslie have hundreds of hours of training, performances,
workshops, showcases, dinner shows, dance conventions and
teaching experiences under their belts.
For the past three
years, they have been members of "Capital Swing" a
competitive West Coast Swing dance team based in Bethesda,
Maryland. Capital Swing captured first place at "Swing
Fling" competition August 2002, third place
at "The Virginia State Open"
competition September 2002, first place MAD Jam, 2003
and first place at 2005 Swing Fling. Dan and Leslie are
gearing up for another team competition this coming fall.
Meanwhile, they are
available for demos and dance entertainment for corporate
and individual parties. They also teach privately from their
home in Catonsville, Maryland. For more information, visit

8. Stardust Dance Weekend in Ellenville, New
York: 09/16/05-09/18/05!
Cant make it to any of the Salsa Cruises? Stardust
Dance Weekend is a lovely time away from the normal dance
craze of any city. Hugo and I went last year to a
Stardust event not knowing what to expect. What we
found were many serious dancers coming to learn, gigantic
ballrooms that reminded me of when courtship actually
involved a night of dancing. The interesting part of
it besides all of the workshops and food were all of the
different ages present. The average age was over 40.
Maybe 20% of the people were from 25-45 and the level of
dancers were pretty great. Some of the teachers were
in their 60's but could literally out-dance any salsero in
DC! We couldn't believe it! They danced on 1
and 2 and even taught on both. If you want to try
something truly unique try this: Average

9. Dancing With Grace Productions Has A Job Opportunity For You!
-
Hugo and Grace are on the lookout for a male salsa dancer
who is willing to train to become an instructor. This
candidate must be an Intermediate III dancer or better.
Now that we are going National Dancing With Grace
Productions will have many more opportunities for big
events, workshops and money making opportunities for their
instructors. Its not as easy as it sounds and you
must be willing to train for 500 hours; yes you heard me
right 500 hours on the DWG Method over a period of 1-2
years. Training also includes "on the job" training
teaching with us by your side and eventually you will get
your own location/club. This person must have great
communication skills and be able to deal with all kinds of
people. A sense of humor is a must.
-
Grace and Hugo
will also consider hiring couples who are married or
engaged as we think being taught by a couple is better
than just 1 instructor. For an interview please email Grace Badillo at:
grace@dancingwithgrace.com. We want you to be on
our team!
-
Web Master/Designer: Hugo and Grace are looking for
a creative Web Master to help update and add pages to our
website. Due to the high costs of this type of work
we would like to trade private dance classes and group
classes for your services. If you are interested
please contact grace at
grace@dancingwithgrace.com
10. Girls Night Out With Grace: An Early Evening
at The Spa, Any Takers?
When is the last time you spent money on relaxation and on
pampering yourself? Grace is looking for 5 friends
to share a relaxing evening with at the Robert Andrews
Salon & Spa (Named Best Spa by Baltimore Magazine).
Escape to another world...
Airfare not required. At Robert Andrew - The Salon & Spa, we bring the destination spa
experience to you. Welcome to Robert Andrew. Our grand, award-winning location overlooks the
lakes and fountains at The Village at Waugh Chapel in Gambrills - centrally located between
Washington DC, Baltimore & Annapolis. Let our 22,000 sq. ft., two-level, Tuscan-themed retreat
carry you thousands of miles away, leaving your troubles and worries far behind.
For $198.00 each the evening would include (3 hours):
Aroma Classic Facial: Your skin will be revived and nourished with pure botanicals generating maximum results in a minimal amount of time. You will be amazed how
relaxed you'll feel and look!
Swedish Massage: Consists of long strokes and
kneading of the outer layers of tissue to reduce stress
and sooth sore joints and muscles. Also relaxes the
nervous system, aids circulation and helps with
detoxification.
Dinner w/The Girls: Robert Andrews Caters a special
meal for all of us w/style and class!
This service is cheaper during the weekdays so I would
like to plan this for a Monday night in October if
possible so you can save up your quarters and break open
your piggy bank! You will each get off of work an
hour or two early for your relaxing evening! I would
try to book this for 4 p.m. I am looking for 2-3 more
ladies! Ladies who are interested in this so far are:
Grace Badillo
Sheena Luaehu
Yasmin Mughal
Nadine Cottle
If I find more than than 2-3 more ladies I can book
another night for November as I am so ready for some
relaxation after all this video filming and editting!
IF you are interested please email me at
grace@dancingwithgrace.com Sorry Guys,
this is for the ladies only! Muuaaahhhh! Beso!
