As everyone knows (and won't shut up about), the most exciting recent development in downtown Baltimores's nightlife profile occurs Saturday, January 3, 2009. I'm talking about, of course, the opening of “The Ark” in the old space formerly known as “Gardels”.
This may be the complete nerd inside me talking, but this place makes me somewhat giddy. We're excited because, lately, downtown has felt kind of empty without this stellar location open to the public! Since the closing of the old location none compares to the sheer grandness of this location. The Ark has the chance to bring back the glitz and glamor that downtown Baltimore entertainment district deserves. It’s time to Romance and Dance At The Ark! Dancing With Grace has answered the growing demand for a 5 star luxury lounge/night club in Downtown Baltimore area, The Ark will officially open its doors on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 7 pm. They will add to their location a sense of Romance that many locations lack. Playing music such as salsa, merengue, cha-cha-cha but also adding a slow bolero after every 5 songs. It will be like taking a step back in time when respected men asked women to dance and romance filled the air.
The night will be run by Dancing With Grace (www.dancingwithgrace.com) This was their home for 4 years & they are happy to be back! They will have rotating DJ’s to play Salsa, Boleros (for you romantics), and other danceable tunes!
The elegantly restrained interiors of the lounge/night club will serve as the perfect contrast to the high energy, trend setting programming scheduled for the club and that will include rotating DJs, theme parties and special guest dance performances.
The 18,000 square-foot club, featuring a beautiful bar and cozy seating areas.
The Ark will be open on Saturdays from 7 pm to 2 am and have dance lessons at 8 and 9 pm with social dancing starting at 10 pm. For part two of this press release keep checking www.dancingwithgrace.com

Parking Options:
- Harbor Park Garage is located across President Street (on the corner of Lombard & President Streets).
- Little Italy Garage is located on E. Pratt Street, one block south of The Ark (on the same side of President Street).
- Limited on-street parking. Metered parking is available on South Front Street, directly in front of The Ark, and are monitored 24 hours, 7 days a week; parking around the block next to all the new townhouses just recently built!
